GUILDERLAND — Walter and Gail Jaskot of Guilderland announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon Theresa Jaskot, to Michael John Forkin, son of John and Betty Forkin of Stony Point, N.Y.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Notre Same-Bishop Gibbons High School in Schenectady. She received her bachelor of science degree in accounting from the State University of New York College at Oswego. She is employed as a certified public accountant by Dannible & McKee, LLP in Syracuse, N.Y., as a tax manager.

The groom-to-be graduated from North Rockland High School. He received his bachelor of science degree in technology education form the State University of New York College at Oswego. He is employed as a teacher by the Schenectady City School District.

An Aug. 16, 2014 wedding is planned.
