Emma Drislane, at far right, does her routine on the balance beam during the Feb. 13 Section 2 gymnastics championships at Shaker High School. Drislane scored a 7.850 and she’ll be going to States for the Floor Exercise with a score of 8.950. The state championships will be held March 2 at Smithtown East High School in Saint James (Section 11).

Helping Guilderland to another runner-up title for Section 2, behind perennial winner Saratoga, is Megan Szesnat, at far left, as she prepares to leap off the vault. Szesnat scored a 7.400 and Guilderland’s overall score was 167.850.

Rounding out the team going to States from Guilderland is Jaclyn Levy, at middle left, Claire’s twin. Here, Levy performs on the Floor during the Section 2 championships, scoring 8.850. Levy qualified for the Vault and is an alternate for the Uneven Parallel Bars and Floor Exercise.
