As Judge Kenneth J. Connolly retires from the bench, the village of Voorheesville has discussed abolishing its court to save about $8,000 annually. Connolly, after over 28 years as village justice, presided for the last time on Monday, Dec. 2 and was honored with a proclamation from Mayor Robert Conway. Conway noted that Connolly had moved to Voorheesville in 1967, and served on the zoning board and as a village trustee. An attorney, Connolly was elected to be a judge for the town of New Scotland and, in 1986, became the village justice. The mayor commended Connolly “for his commitment and outstanding contributions” and said he had earned “the respect of residents, area attorneys, law enforcement, and other judges.”
