Guilderland wins Suburban Council South, hopes to defend Class AA title

This was the last regular-season game for the Dutch, which won, 2 to 1, and secured a Suburban Council South title at 12-3-1. Guilderland will look to defend its Class AA championship as its 2014 sectionals begin with a quarterfinal home game against either Schenectady or Saratoga next Monday at 3 p.m.

Rearing back to strike the soccer ball is Guilderland’s Ben Couture, who scored the first goal in last Thursday night’s game at Mohonasen, which the Dutch won, 2 to 1. Also scoring for Guilderland was Antonia Lia in the second half. The Dutch (12-3-1) start its Class AA title defense this week, taking on either Saratoga or Schenectady this Monday.
