Pulling the weight: Voorheesville running back Matt Feller rushed for 110 yards last Saturday against Cairo-Durham, including this run while being grabbed onto. The Blackbirds won the game to move to 1-1 in Class C. Voorheesville plays Watervliet this Friday, but the game is taking place at Lansingburgh High School.

Corralled: A Cairo-Durham defender thrusts himself at Voorheesville quarterback Robert Denman during last Saturday’s Class C football game at Voorheesville. The Blackbirds won its home-opener, 27 to 13, rebounding from a bad loss at Fonda in Week 1. Denman threw for 70 yards on Saturday, 65 of those yards going to Scott Roney.

Feller, a junior, had 110 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Voorheesville (1-1) also got two interceptions from Jared Paigo and Slater Nolan.
