Throwing a block for Guilderland is Cameron Long against Colonie’s Taylor Pfaff during last Friday’s Class AA game, which kicked off the 2014 regular season for both schools. The Dutchmen had a 10-to-0 lead going into the fourth quarter on the road, but the Raiders scored 18 unanswered points to win the game. Long had at least three passes to Colonie’s Eugene Reyes defended successfully, but fumbled the ball with 1:48 remaining in the fourth quarter, which led to Colonie’s winning touchdown.

Lounging on the grass: The Guilderland football team turned the ball over three times in the first half, but still had a 10-to-0 lead over Colonie going into the fourth quarter of last Friday’s game in Colonie. Then, Colonie scored three touchdowns to win, 18 to 10. Here, the Dutch’s Jalen Smith, left, tackles a Raiders’ ball carrier.
