Ready to serve: On Aug. 2, eight members of the Guilderland Police Explorer Post 0155 graduated from the Cadet Police Academy, which is held at the University of Hartford in Massachusetts: from left —  Post Senior Advisor Telecommunicator John Ginder, Post Advisor Officer Patricia Stallmer, Explorer Sergeant Mike Azoia, Explorer R.J. Janiszewski, Explorer Chad Cox, Explorer Nick Wilson, Explorer Karissa Alonzo, Explorer Sergeant Chrystal Tinney, Explorer Schuyler Spooner, and Post Advisor, Officer Tylor Stevens.  Absent from the photo is Explorer Chris Szczepanik. The academy is a seven-day program, from July 27 to Aug. 2, with over 350 cadets attending from over 30 police agencies.  Explorer Sergeant Tinney won an award for second place in the D.U.I. Enforcement category and received a medal.
