These local students have recently distinguished themselves:

— Mark Guido of Slingerlands, interned with the State University of New York College at Potsdam First Year Success Seminar in Potsdam, for the Fall 2014 semester;

— Marina Skrabalak, of Delmar was one of 31 State University of New York College at Oneonta student-athletes named to the State University of New York Athletic Conference All-Academic Team for the Fall 2014 season.

To qualify for the All-Academic Team, a student must be varsity athlete who has completed the entire season and earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.3 for the semester in which he or she completed. Skrabalak, was a member of the field hockey team;
