The Guilderland Senior Services is offering the following activities the week of April 21.

Monday: Scheduled shopping, aerobics at 9 a.m., Strong Bones Plus at 10:30 a.m., senior fitness at 10:30 a.m., Strong Bones Plus at 1:30 p.m.;

Tuesday: Strong Bones Plus at 9 a.m., luncheon chicken a la king with gravy or cold plate at 11:30 a.m., bingo, and Rummikub at 12:30 p.m.;

Wednesday: Scheduled shopping, cardio circuit at 9 a.m., Strong Bones Plus at 10:30 a.m., senior fitness at 10:30 a.m., needlecraft at 1 p.m., and Strong Bones Plus at 1:30 p.m.;

Thursday: Scheduled shopping, Strong Bones Plus at 9 a.m., Mahjong at 12:30 p.m., Pinochle at 1 p.m.; and 

Friday: Scheduled shopping, painting at 10 a.m., and Bridge at 10 a.m., and quilting at 1 p.m.

Luncheon and fashion show Please plan to join us at the Fashion Show and Luncheon at The Cider House Restaurant, Orchard Creek Golf Course, Dunnsville Road in Altamont on Tuesday, May 20, at noon.

Fashions by Liz’s Closet will be modeled by our own senior ladies. Your luncheon entrée choices are pot roast, baked cod Florentine or chicken cordon bleu.

Tickets are available in the senior office from April 15 to May 13. The cost is $20 per person. Please make checks payable to the Town of Guilderland.

Remember to indicate your luncheon choice and if transportation is needed.

Drivers needed We are currently seeking volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels to area homebound residents. This volunteer position would be approximately 2 hours from 10 a.m. to noon, on Mondays. We are also seeking sub-stitute drivers for meal deliveries, which may be one to two days per month. Trip to 911 Museum

The Guilderland Seniors are hosting a June 9 trip to New York City for a tour of the 911 Memorial Museum.

The group will meet at 5:45 a.m.at Hamilton Square (formerly 20 Mall) as the bus departs at 6 a.m. There will be a 15-minute rest stop at Slothesburg, and the bus is to arrive in New York at 10:30 a.m.

At 11 a.m., the travelers will enter the 911 Museum for a self-guided tour.  Due to the size of the group, guided tours are not available.  Audio guides will be provided at minimal cost.

A café located inside the museum where lunch or snacks may be purchased.

Visitors leaving the museum building will automatically be brought out to the 911 Memorial Reflecting Pools, which may also be toured.

The group will meet at the bus stop at 2:15 p.m.; the bus leaves for its return trip at 2:30 p.m. With a 30-minute food and restroom stop along the way, the bus will return to Hamilton Square between 7 and 7:30 p.m.

The deadline to sign up for the trip is May 6. Payment of $48, which includes round-trip bus fare and admission to museum and memorial, must be paid in person  at the Senior Service Office in Town Hall or sent by mail for a person to be placed on the list.  Checks may be made payable to the town of Guilderland.
