Bingo! Altamont Seniors flank two kids in a game of Multiplication Bingo. Altamont Elementary third-graders also serenaded their elders on recorders.

On Tuesday, Jan. 14, the Altamont Seniors welcomed the Altamont Elementary School third-graders to perform during their weekly luncheon.

The children braved the ice and rainy weather to play their recorders for the seniors.

After the performance, the children partnered with the seniors to play a rousing game of “multiplication bingo.”  Third-grade teacher Dana Doak and Chris Gockley challenged the third-graders to a fast-paced, fun game and the seniors helped the kids with some of the tougher problems.

The seniors really appreciate these frequent visits by the students and teachers at Altamont Elementary School and love interacting with the kids.

This week, the seniors traveled to the Home Front Café on Altamont’s Main Street for a delicious meal hosted by Cindy Pollard.

Next week, Jan. 28, the Altamont Free Library director, Judith Wines, will stop by with Trivia questions to “Motivate our Minds.”
