Church hosts tour to national parks out west

ALTAMONT — St. Lucy/St. Bernadette Church in Altamont is offering a Canyon Country tour to national parks in the southwestern United States from April 30 to May 8.

The cost of $3,129 per person includes transportation from Albany to Phoenix, returning from Las Vegas, two nights in Scottsdale, one night inside the Grand Canyon National Park, two nights overlooking Lake Powell, one night in Zion National Park, and two nights in Las Vegas. Also included is breakfast daily and five dinners.

Although sponsored by the church as a fund-raiser, this tour is not a pilgrimage or religious event and is open to the first 40 who sign up.

Jean Gagnon of Plaza Travel is guiding the trip and will give a presentation about it on Monday, Nov. 25, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Lucy/St. Bernadette Church on Grand Street in Altamont.
