Help Guilderhaven take care of hurt or abandoned wild life

GUILDERLAND — Several years ago, Guilderhaven Inc. took under its wing (pun intended) Joyce Perry’s wildlife rehabilitation program. We like its educational aspect and the caring and compassionate work that it does.

Each year brings challenges of injured birds and orphaned creatures. The rehabilitators pay out of their own pockets) to become licensed and certified. They also pay for other expenses that come with restoring these animals to health, such as food, housing, medicines, and medical supplies.

With the wonderful donation of their time and expertise Lexi Becker of the Animal Hospital and Mike McCarthey at the Village Animal Clinic help most of these become well enough to be returned to the wild. The small remainder lives comfortably and become “wild ambassadors” at the many events we do.

Please help us help them and stop by at our fund-raiser Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 108 Halfmoon Drive in Altamont.
