Six seats left on Canyon Country tour

ALTAMONT — The “Canyon Country” tour offered by St. Lucy/St. Bernadette Church in Altamont is almost sold out. The trip to western national parks will leave from Albany on Oct. 15 and return on Oct. 23, led by Jean Gagnon, manager of the Travel Plaza Center in Latham.

The cost of $3,129 per person includes transportation from Albany to Phoenix, returning from Las Vegas, two nights in Scottsdale, one night inside the Grand Canyon National Park, two nights overlooking Lake Powell, one night in Zion National Park, and two nights in Las Vegas. The price includes breakfast daily and five dinners, including a chili-cook off.

Although sponsored by the church as a fundraiser, the tour is not religious and is open to everyone.

“We will have several visits with Native American tribe members and time to shop for southwestern style jewelry and crafts. Try your hand at the gaming tables of Las Vegas or see a fabulous show,” said Gagnon in a release.
