Don’t miss the Westerlo Community Activity Committee’s third annual tree lighting on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 4 to 6:30 p.m., at the new Westerlo town hall.  Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive at 4:15 p.m., and the tree will be lit at 6 p.m.  Miss Lee will also be on hand with stories, songs, free children’s books and simple craft for all ages.

Trustees meet

The board of library trustees of the Westerlo Library will meet on Monday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m., at the library.  This meeting is open to the public.

 BookPage

Pick up your free copy of the November edition of BookPage. BookPage is a monthly book review and selection guide to the best new books published every month.  The tone is upbeat and literate, focusing on bestsellers as well as new discoveries.  All of the content from the print edition is posted on BookPage.com each month.

Children’s Program

Toddler and preschool story time meets on Wednesday at 10 a.m.  Join Miss Lee for stories, songs, games and movement activities designed for children ages 2 to 5 years old.  In addition to developing pre-reading skills, singing, moving to music, and playing instruments all help foster a sense of rhythm and timing that are essential elements in developing the part of a child’s brain that shapes math skills.

Technology walk-in Wednesday

Do you need to brush up on your computer skills – or obtain basic skills?  See Amy on Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for free, personalized, one-on-one, hands-on instruction on how to work the mouse, navigate the Internet, set up an e-mail account, use office automation programs, and more.  If Wednesday mornings are not convenient, please contact us to schedule an appointment.
