It’s a Sense-ational Exploration. We will use our senses just like scientists to explore and understand the world. Come to an afternoon of experiments and activities on Monday, Aug. 18, at 2 p.m., at the Voorheesville Public Library that will have you seeing, tasting, hearing, touching and smelling your way to new discoveries! Intended for children in kindergarten through grade three.

Sewing Catnip toys

Teens in grades seven and up can earn two hours of community service while having fun sewing felt toys for shelter and foster cats. On Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 3 p.m., drop by the library, no experience necessary. This is a great project for beginners.  Please register.

Kids movie matinee

Stop by the library on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 1 p.m., for The Lego Movie matinee, rated PG. Have a parent post a photo of one of your LEGO creations to the Voorheesville Lego League Facebook page to be part of the pre-movie slide show.  Take home a minifig crayon as a souvenir.

Free family concert

Bring your lawn blanket on Wednesday, Aug. 20, for a 7 p.m. family concert featuring Mark Shepard’s Drum Song Story: Beyond the Borders, sponsored by the friends of the library. Beyond the Borders is a celebration of cultural collaboration with drums, songs and stories.
