Middleburgh Library Notes for Wednesday, September 3, 2014

On Saturday, Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon join us at the Middleburgh Library for an opportunity to clean out your gardens and sell your extra bounty. Space is $15. Table rental is $5 or you can bring your own. This is a great opportunity for kids to learn about Farm to Fork, local commerce, and building a sense of community. Sign up for your table at the library or call 827-5142 to reserve a table.

Birthday Carnival Bash

On Saturday, Sept. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m., the community will be celebrating the Middleburgh Library's 82nd birthday, and you’re invited. There will be a small petting zoo, hot dogs, cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn, Mr. Ding-a-Ling's ice cream truck, Sparky the dog, a dunking booth, games and music!

This is a low-cost family-friendly event.  The library is located at 323 Main St., Middleburgh. Check us out on Facebook!

Board meets

On Monday, Sept. 8, at 6:30 p.m., the board of trustees meet. Our meetings are open to the public.  Please join us.

Mahjong Mania

On Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 1 p.m., Men and women are invited to come learn the game of Mahjong.  No experience is necessary; just a willingness to learn and have fun.  No registration is necessary.

Doodlebugs

On Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m., join us for preschool art exploration. Doodlebugs is preschool art exploration for little ones and their caregivers.  Appropriate for ages two and up.  Registration is required. 

Knitting Circle

On Thursday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m., the friendly ladies knit and crochet, embroider and quilt, and more. You can learn a new skill here or share your own special talents with others or just craft in the company of friends. Drop in anytime. No registration is required.  

Concert

On Thursday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m., our concert series features Martyn Joseph, with Shades of Springsteen, John Mayer, Bruce Cockburn and Dave Matthews.

Fly tying

On Saturday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m., we will have Introduction to Fly Tying with Creekside Sports. Young people who enjoy the outdoors and especially fishing will want to register for this introduction to the art of fly tying taught by the experts from Creekside Sports. For kids age eight and up.  Registration is required.
