Middleburgh Library Notes for Thursday, May 29, 2014
There will be no story time in June at the Middleburgh Library.
On Monday, June 2, at 6:30 p.m., the library will offer Cooking by the Book: Your Choice. Do you love browsing through cookbooks and trying new recipes or cooking techniques? Do you enjoy sampling and sharing new dishes? Then hang onto your spatula! This month it will be your choice. Choose a recipe from a cookbook that you discover, and bring your creation, and the cookbook to the program to share. Registration is required.
On Tuesday, June 3, at 1 p.m., and every Tuesday at the same time, men and women are invited to come learn the game of Mahjong. No experience necessary; just a willingness to learn and have fun. No registration is necessary.
On Thursday, June 5, at 7 p.m., the friendly ladies of the Knitting Circle meet to knit, crochet, embroider, quilt, and more. You can learn a new skill here or share your own special talents with others or just craft in the company of friends. Drop in anytime. No registration is required
Dinner and a movie
On Friday, June 13, at 5:30 join us at the library for a showing of The Monuments Men rated PG-13. The library provides the pizza, and drinks and you provide the dessert to share. This is a wonderful community event, but make sure you register early as it fills up quickly. Registration is required.
On Monday June 16, our summer reading program registration begins. Stop in at the library and sign up for a great summer of programs for children.
On Thursday, June 19, at 7 p.m., join us for a concert with John White Jr. He became a hit, literally overnight at the age of four, by performing with his legendary father Josh White. In 1949, Josh Jr. landed his first role on Broadway. While continuing a solo acting career, Josh went on to perform and record with his father for the next seventeen years on radio, television, Broadway, concert halls, and nightclubs around the world. Tickets are available at the door. A $10 donation is suggested. Please use back entrance.
