Middleburgh Library Notes for Friday, March 21, 2014

On Tuesday, March 25, at 10:45 a.m., join us at the Middleburgh Library for drop in story time. Get ready to move in this interactive story time designed especially for children 0 to age five and their caregivers. We’ll read books, sing songs, recite fingerplays, dance and watch a short movie based on a weekly theme. No registration is required.

Mahjong

On Tuesday, March 25, at 1 p.m. join us at the library for Mahjong Mania. This program is scheduled for every Tuesday. Men and women are invited to come learn the game of Mahjong.  No experience is necessary; just a willingness to learn and have fun.  No registration is necessary. 

Science program

On Wednesday, March 26, at 11 a.m., the library presents Start with Science a program for preschoolers ages three to five to learn about basic science through stories and hands-on science activities. Children must be  accompanied by an adult.  Registration is required. 

Wednesday matinee

On Wednesday, March 26, at 1 p.m., the library will show the movie Gravity rated PG13.

Knitting Circle

On Thursday, March 27, at 7 p.m., join the Knitting Circle where ladies knit and crochet, embroider and quilt, and more. You can learn a new skill here or share your own special talents with others or just craft in the company of friends. Drop in anytime. No registration is required. 

Recipes enjoyed

 On Monday, March 31, at 6:30 p.m., join us at the library for Cooking by the Book. We will be using recipes from Rachael Ray’s Big Orange Book. This is the ultimate collection of all new 30-minute meals, vegetarian dinners, meals for one, kosher meals, holiday menus and much more. Pick up a book at the circulation desk.  Please let us know which dish you are making before the program so there are no duplicates.  Also, please bring your own plate and utensils.  Drinks will be provided. Registration is required. 

Help needed

Are you interested in history?  The Middleburgh Library History Room is looking for interested persons to sort and label Bergh photos. If you are interested, please see Marian Bouck at the library.
