Bethlehem Library Notes for Wednesday, September 25, 2013

On Friday, Oct. 4, at 1 p.m., the Bethlehem Public Library presents the Alzheimer’s series: Improving Communication sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association and Community Caregivers.

Star Wars Reads Day

On Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. stop by the library for Star Wars Reads Day. You can try an activity, read a Star Wars book, and enter our drawing. This program is for kids and families.

Cookie tasting

Also on Saturday Oct. 5, from 3 to 4 p.m., while you’re participating in Star Wars Reads Day, stop and taste our teens’ home-baked cookies. All ages are welcome.

Origami Club 

On Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 3:30 p.m., come to the library and learn basic techniques, and get help with a special project. This program is for kids in kindergarten through grade 12.

After Dinner too

On Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m., the book group will discuss The Yellow Birds by Kevin Powers. New members are welcome. Copies of the book are available at the information desk; audio copies may also be available.

Paper bridges

On Thursday, Oct. 10, at 3:45 p.m., the library offers a building challenge. Can a paper structure hold a hundred pennies? Can it hold a pile of books? Find out; take the STEM challenge. Call 439-9314 to sign up. For kids in grades 1 to 5.
