Thompsons Lake

On Sunday, Sept. 29, the five children of Warren and Wilma Willsey took them to the Apple Barrel in Schoharie to celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary.

Also attending the celebration were granddaughter Rena Bradt and grandson Dylan Willsey. Mr. and Mrs. James Wolford, he’s their nephew; their friends Midge Carl, Barbara Wolford, Ted Willsey, and Denise Schanz.

Congratulations are in order and we wish you more wonderful years together.

On Monday, Sept. 29, I had some errands to run and then I dropped in on my friend, Barbara Bonneau, who lives on Schoolhouse Rd. in Albany. Barb’s sister, Linda was visiting from Staten Island.

I enjoyed having lunch with them and of course, we got caught up on family.

On Tuesday, I went to my primary physician for my yearly physical. The doctor sent me for X-rays and now I know it’s not my sciatic nerve but discs.

I went home with medicine for inflammation and a relaxer.

On Wednesday, Oct. 1, I did a little housework and then went on the dinner visit with my grandson, Brandon Clark to see his children, Samson and Nichole.

On Thursday, Oct. 2, I went to BJ’s for dog food and then to Price Chopper. When I got home I had to rest because my back was paining me.

I was invited to Brandon and Jenn Smith’s for dinner. Jenn made a delicious chicken parmesan dinner.

On Friday, Oct. 3, I had my Zoey day. Zoey knows my back hurts and she tries to rub it for me. She also looks over my arms to see if I have any scratches. I did have one scratch and she tries to rub that to make me feel better.

On Saturday, Oct. 4, I decided to rest all day to give my back a break. I dug out four past issues of The Altamont Enterprise to read all the articles Tim Albright wrote about Thacher Park.

My sister, Pat Sykala, doesn’t subscribe to The Enterprise but she read Tim Albright’s pages in the Sept. 11 issue and that was the last one. Now she asked me if I have all the back issues and I do, so she can borrow them.

Tim Albright wrote about Thacher Park in the June 19 issue, July 31, Sept 4 and11. They are very interesting articles and the park has just celebrated 100 years.

Then in the evening I went to Brandon and Jenn’s house and Samson, Nichole, and Iain had a dress rehearsal. I got to see them dressed for Halloween. Samson had a skeleton mask and wore his camouflage clothes. Nichole was dressed as a ninja, and Iain wore a GI Joe costume.

They are very excited about Halloween. Iain will be in a parade at Berne-Know-Westerlo but Nichole said her school (Radez) doesn’t celebrate Halloween.

On Sunday, Oct.5, I went to church and then Nichole and I visited Danielle and Zoey. Nichole loves babies and Zoey loved having her to play with.

At 1 p.m. I went to the Thompson’s Lake church hall and watched Samson, Nichole, and Iain build a bear.

Samson made a stingray stuffed animal and Nichole and Iain made dragons. They did a good job. The Sunday School put on the event.

Then Marcia, Kyra, Brandon, Jenn, Samson, Nichole, and Iain came for dinner at my house. We enjoyed pulled pork, zucchini fritters, and fruit salad that Nichole made.

Jenn treated us to dessert, which was a brownie sundae. That’s a brownie with ice cream and whipped cream on top. It was the perfect ending to the weekend.

Before we ate, Kathy and Kassi stopped in with a battery operated pain relief pad for me and some pain patches. Kassi sliced up all the zucchini for me.
