David P. Miranda of Voorheesville, a partner with Heslin Rothenberg Farley & Mesiti, began his term as president-elect of the New York State Bar Association on June 1.  The association, with a membership of over 76,000 members, is the largest voluntary state bar organization in the nation.

NEW SCOTLAND — The Presbyterian Church in New Scotland is having worship services at 10 a.m., followed by a time of fellowship on July 6, Aug. 17, Aug. 24 and Aug 31.

On July 13 joint worship service will be at the Rensselaerville Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m.

After Berne-Knox-Westerlo student Sam Gerardi's family home succumbed to a fire in May, Teachers Association members collected more than $1,200 in one week toward a laptop.

The Albany Rowing Center is celebrating National Learn to Row Day on June 7, and is also signing up young rowers for summer camp.

The not-for-profit center is located on the Hudson River and provides recreational and competitive rowing opportunities for young and old.
