Guilderhaven news Maddie’s tale has a happy ending

GUILDERLAND — On Nov. 17, a thin, shaking, calico cat showed up on the doorstep of a Guilderland resident near Crossgates. She was begging to get out of the freezing rain.

The animal-loving resident called her daughter who called Guilderlhaven. We arranged for the cat to be taken to Aqueduct Animal Hospital for emergency care.

“Calie” (named for her coloration) was found to have a microchip, indicating an adoptive owner, address, and telephone number. Ruth from Aqueduct took it upon herself to try to track down the own we although the chip was 14 years old.

Then Dave, an officer with the county sheriff’s office, became interested in helping and found a possible current address in Delanson.

He drove to the address and gave the surprising and happy news to “Calie’s family. They had been looking for her for more than 3 weeks.

On Nov. 19, Calie,” also known as “Maddie,” was reunited with her loving family.

I have many questions that I really with could be answered, but, so far, Maddie’s not talking.
