Bryant given SUNY Chancellor’s Award

Kimberly Bryant, a faculty member in the Dental Hygiene Department at Hudson Valley Community College, was recently honored with the State University of New York Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Bryant began her career at Hudson Valley as an adjunct instructor in dental hygiene, teaching clinic courses in the pre-clinical and radiology labs. In 1993, she was appointed to a full-time faculty position, and in 2008 was promoted to the rank of professor.

She is the department’s lead instructor in dental radiography and was instrumental in the research, purchase and installation of the college’s first digital panoramic radiography unit and digital interoral sensors.

Eight additional faculty and staff members of the Troy college were named recipients of the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence for 2014. Instituted in 1972 by the State University of New York, the Chancellor's Award recognizes exceptional contributions to the university by dedicated professionals.
