GUILDERLAND — A 24-year-old man was arrested this month for raping and assaulting a minor.

GUILDERLAND — Dale Owen’s request to keep chickens in his Guilderland backyard was denied by the town’s zoning board at its meeting last night.

The board’s chairman, Peter Barber, recused himself from the vote, because he lives in Owen’s neighborhood.

GUILDERLAND — A woman says she was assaulted when she was out for a walk on Tuesday and the police are asking anyone who might have seen the suspect to call them.

GUILDERLAND — Guilderland Police Officers performed a water rescue at the Normans Kill on Saturday after two men, who, police say, had been drinking alcohol, jumped from the Frenches Hollow foot bridge.

Investigators determined that the fire started on the back porch of a third-floor apartment, and was due to the accidental or improper disposal of hot coals.
