NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Please take notice that a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of New Scotland on August 31, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at New Scotland Town Hall, 2029 New Scotland Road, Slingerlands, NY regarding the adoption of Proposed Local Law I of the Year 2010. The Proposed Local Law would stay the application of the substantive provisions of the New Scotland Ethics Law (Local Law 4 of the year 2010) to January 1, 2011.

Copies of the Proposed Local Law are available for review at New Scotland Town Hall.

All members of the public wishing to be heard concerning Proposed Local Law I of the Year 2010 will be allowed to comment concerning the same at the Public Hearing.

Notice is hereby given that the Zoning Board of Town of New Scotland, New York will hold a public hearing pursuant to Chapter 190, Article IX, Section 190-73 of the Zoning Law on the following proposition:

A Public Hearing for Variance Application #439.

Amended Variance Application #439: Application submitted by James Olsen for relief from Article II, Section 190-17 of the Zoning Law to be allowed to merge a portion of lands of others with an existing non conforming parcel owned by him. The current Olsen lot is 60+/- ft. in width and contains .19 acres. Mr. Olsen proposal is to add 40 feet to the lot width and .13 acres to the lot area. The lot lies within the Commercial district which requires a lot to have a minimum width of 120 ft. and a minimum lot area of 30,000 sq. ft. (.69 acres). This request is for 20 ft. of relief from the lot width and .37 acres of relief from the lot area to create a lot 100 ft. in width with a lot area of .32 acres. The site of issue is located at 1926 New Scotland Road (“Emma Clearys”) and is identified as tax parcel #84.-2-19.

Said hearing will take place on August 24, 2010 at the New Scotland Town Hall beginning at 7:00 P.M.

Notice is hereby given that I have received the tax list and warrant for the collection of school taxes in the Voorheesville Central School District.

I will receive all taxes for a period of 62 days beginning September 1, 2010 at the place listed below. During the 30 day period from September 1, 2010 through September 30, 2010 inclusive, there will be no penalty charge for the collection of the tax.

From October 1, 2010 through November 1, 2010, in accordance with Section 2130 of the Education Law and Section 1328 of the Real Property Tax Law, penalty will be charged at a rate of 2%.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Berne Fire District will accept bids for the manufacture, construction and delivery of a new brush truck to be utilized in the prevention and suppression of fire within the area protected by the Berne Fire District. The vehicle must be a 4-wheel drive vehicle with 6 speed automatic transmission, 6.7 16 Cummins Engine with exhaust brake, with an aluminum body not to exceed 9 feet by 102 inches. The Board of Fire Commissioners presently have a UFP Skid Unit which will be transferred from an existing vehicle together with a 300 gallon water tank and 8 gallon foam tank and a Hale 300 G.P.M. pump. Copies of the specifications may be obtained by contacting the Fire District Secretary, Mille Zuk at (518) 872-0297 between the hours of 9;00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to The Berne Fire District at P.O. Box 41, Berne, New York 12023. All bids must be received by Tuesday, October 12th, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read. All bids must contain a non-collusive bid statement pursuant to Section 103-d of the General Municipal Law. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that pursuant to a resolution of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Knox Fire District, in the Town of Knox, Albany County, New York, sealed bids for a Fire Police/Support Vehicle (basically a 1 ton pickup truck with a custom utility body) for firematic and general purposes will be received by the Board of Fire Commissioners at the Fire Commissioners meeting room at the Knox Fire Station #1, located at 2198 Berne Altamont Road (Route 156), Knox, New York, in the Town of Knox, Albany County, New York until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
