Guilderland man charged with felony burglary at Albany hotel

Jeffrey Multari, of Schoolhouse Road, in Guilderland, was arrested in Albany on Sunday after he tried to steal construction materials from a hotel.

According to Detective James Miller, a spokesman for the Albany Police, Multari, 51, was observed by a manager on the second floor of the Marriot Courtyard, attempting to steal materials from the site of a renovation project.

The second floor of the hotel, at 1455 Washington Ave., is currently closed off for the renovation, and the manager confronted Multari, who was taking construction tools, around 6 p.m., said Miller.

The manager called the Albany Police, who arrested Multari for third-degree burglary, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Multari was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Monday morning, Miller said.
