Car strikes man on Route 20
GUILDERLAND — An elderly man was hit as he walked across Route 20 last week, according to Guilderland Police.
Kenneth L. Coons, 72, of 7 Eastmount Drive, Slingerlands, was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital and treated for injuries, which, police said, did not appear to be life-threatening.
Michael P. Acosta, 23, of 68 Catherine St., Albany, was driving his Ford Focus east on Western Avenue near Dutch Manor Lane when Coons crossed the road, according to a release from the Guilderland Police Department.
Alcohol didn’t appear to be involved in the 4 p.m. accident, the release says, and no charges were immediately filed.
The accident is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call police at 356-1501.
