Man arrested for molesting two girls
By Holly Grosch
THOMPSONS LAKE Kenneth E. Radley, 44, a self-employed home-repair man was arrested last month by the Albany County Sheriffs Department for molesting two girls ages 11 and 12, at the Thompsons Lake State Park campground.
Radley lives at 1368 Central Avenue in Albany and is facing a felony charge of sexual abuse, contact by forcible compulsion.
Sheriff Captain Matt Campbell of the Voorheesville substation said it is forcible because the victims are children. While he declined to describe Radleys actions, Campbell said that the charge indicates, for example, an adult who has fondled a girls genitals or breast.
Radley is not related to the two girls, but did know them prior to the abuse, said Campbell. The girls are not related to each other either, he said.
Both girls were camping with Radley over a May weekend, for two nights when the abuse occurred, Campbell said.
The girls eventually told their parents what happened and the parents of each girl made complaints to the police five weeks after the incident, Campbell said.
The one camping weekend is believed to be a solitary incident involving these two victims, Campbell said.
After an investigation, Radley was arrested on Aug. 16. Radley gave a written statement to police in which he confessed, Campbell said.
Radley was arraigned in Berne Town Court and entered a plea of not guilty, according to the court clerk.
