Victorian Holiday expanded this year for Altamont’s quasquicentennial

To the Editor:

Re-Nue Spa is gearing up for this weekend’s Victorian Holiday Celebration and Winter Market.  As one of the five locations in the Winter Market, the shop is decorated in a fun Candy Land theme for the festivities. Sweet treats and candy canes accented with the traditional red, white and green holiday colors.  Who does not like candy?

Come celebrate with us on Sunday, Dec. 13, from noon to 5 p.m.   With over 50 different vendors in this year’s Winter Market, you are sure to find something.   We offer art, food, candles, jewelry, fudge, tea, pet products, home décor and men’s grooming supplies. Please don’t forget to sample a few craft beers from Honey Hollow and Green Wolf Brewery while you are here too!

The event is bigger and better this year in celebration of the quasquicentennial year of the founding of the village of Altamont.  To complement this, the Archives and Museum will be open to recognize 125 years of history.

The expansion of the event has led to more activities for the entire family. They include storytelling, hay rides, Five River Environmental Center activities, wine tasting, a Dog and Cat Holiday Costume Contest, Kids’ Treasure Hunt, Church of St. Vincent de Paul Choir, Mrs. Red Shoes Crafts, a hula hoop contest, Interactive Gratitude Wreath, book-signing, and Altamont firehouse activities.

A trolley will transport people for the house tours, and the Santa train is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Orsini Park.

This Sunday, enjoy a fun-filled day and celebrate the holidays in the charming village of Altamont.  I hope to see you there, even if you don’t enjoy candy!
