Admired candidates thank you

To the Editor:

This letter is addressed to those who like Richard Tollner (who ran for re-election as Rensselaerville’s town assessor) and Brian O’Keefe (who ran for Rensselaerville’s town justice post) so much that they had to have their campaign signs in their own possession before Election Day.

Your admiration of these two men is understandable but you should have restrained yourselves until after the elections so that those who don’t know these men could have at least seen their names on the signs.

I’m sure both of these men, and the other candidates (myself, Margaret Sedlmeir, and Kevin McGrath) whose signs disappeared would have let you have them after the elections if you would have just asked

In the future, please have the restraint and maturity to leave campaign signs up until after the elections. If you were running for a town office would you want someone to take your signs away even if it were out of admiration or because possibly red and white are your favorite colors?

Margaret Sedlmeir

Rensselaerville
