Free cancer screenings offered

The Cancer Services Program of Albany and Rensselaer Counties will be holding two special events in August to provide free comprehensive screenings for uninsured individuals on these dates:

— Aug. 24 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Capital Imaging Associates in Latham; and

— Aug. 27 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.

All of the screenings that our program has to offer will be available for uninsured women age 40 and older, including a mammogram, clinical breast exam, and pap test.

A take-home kit to screen for colon cancer will also be available for men and women age 50 and older. All screenings are free.
