Please respect church property

To the Editor:

The First United Methodist Church of Voorheesville and the Community Preschool have a small playground in the back of the church.  This is primarily used by our parishioners with small children, by the preschool when it’s in session, and by other small children.

However, there seems to be a group of “children” that “use” the playground to see what destruction they can do.  It was noted that, after the Memorial Day parade, all the chains on the swings were thrown up and around the bar that holds them in place.  Also, a small plastic house was moved and broken.

As a not-for-profit entity, we have to depend on an already busy group of volunteers to repair this large building and to keep up our property.  We would appreciate that all respect not only our property but all property that doesn’t belong to them.
