Thanks, GE, for partnering with Tech Valley High School

To the Editor:

Tech Valley High School and General Electric recently announced a collaboration to provide professional development opportunities to teachers from the Capital District, throughout the state and across the country by unveiling the GE Collaboration Lab at Tech Valley High School.

Developed through a $50,000 donation from GE, the GE Collaboration Lab is a space where educators at Tech Valley High School can share the best practices of project-based learning that TVHS teachers rely on in daily classroom instruction.

GE has long been a partner of TVHS; in fact, TVHS and GE’s relationship actually predates the school’s opening in 2007 as GE provided valuable input in developing the school’s strategic plan. Over the years, it has served on the school’s Business Alliance, provided engineers to the school’s science classrooms, and brought students to its own facilities to work side-by-side with industry experts.

The company’s latest show of support is just one more example of GE’s ongoing commitment to helping our students develop the skills necessary to succeed in the future workforce.

On behalf of the Tech Valley High School community, we would like to thank GE for its continued commitment not only to innovation in industry, but to innovation in education as well
