At VCSD, lacrosse is boss

To the Editor:

Lacrosse is boss at Voorheesville’s high school. There was a high interest level this year and a lot of skill building as the players became familiar with the sport and working together as a team, with excellent mentorship by the more experienced players.

Athletes from football, basketball, wrestling, and other fall and winter sports tested their mettle with long and short sticks. Some outstanding competition and sportsmanship emerged.

With just one senior on the squad, next year may prove to be a highly successful year as players continue to develop and gain experience. It will continue to be exciting as the town youth league players move up to the high school as well.

There was a great group of very supportive and friendly parents and terrific coaches. It is a very exciting and fast-paced game and there was good turnout for the home games.

Congratulations, Blackbird Lacrosse, on a fun season. You have much to celebrate at your upcoming banquet.
