Diana will always do what is right for our children

To the Editor:

I am writing this to encourage people to re-elect Diana Straut to the Voorheesville School Board on Tuesday, May 17.  Diana has done an outstanding job in her four years on the board and deserves re-election.  Her experience on the board only adds to her other qualifications, which include classroom teaching experience, a Ph.D. in education, several years as a college professor in education, and considerable experience in managing large budget projects and grants at the local and federal levels.

As a mother of three sons, Diana has been very involved in activities at all three schools. She has served on site-based teams and on committees to interview people applying for administrative positions with the school.

As a professional, she relies on strong communication and collaboration skills, attributes that have served her well on the school board. She is currently a senior staff developer, providing program evaluation and school improvement services and working to provide better outcomes for all students, especially students with disabilities.

More importantly, Diana is conscientious, hardworking, and will always do what is right for our children, while keeping in mind the concerns of the taxpayers.  I can’t think of anyone more suited for this important position, and I encourage the voters to support her re-election.
