Amedore’s letter didn’t address problems with state budget

To the Editor:

In the April 2 edition of The Enterprise, our Senator George Amedore says the state budget helped us. Maybe a little, but they didn't have any problem pushing through a tax break for their rich friends who buy yachts and jets.

Also, did you see they put $24,000 in their “member items” pork fund for ACORN [Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now], which has been out of operation since 2010? Do you wonder how much more money is hidden in their pork fund?

The big noise this year was how they were going to clean things up down at the Capitol. Wonder when it will start?

Right now, $87 million, as reported by the Empire Center for Public Policy, is sitting in the “member items,” which would go a long way in helping school, veterans, and Alzheimer’s patients.
