‘Three Cheers for 100 Years’ Gardners honored at library gala

To the Editor:

The Altamont Free Library is inviting our community to come celebrate!  We are once again hosting the Annual I Love My Library Gala and Auction; this is our ninth.

This year, our honorees are Jim and Wanda Gardner who have long supported the library and our community in general so do come and help us thank them.  To add to the evening titled “Three Cheers for 100 Years,” we will be kicking off our 100th Anniversary year.  What an accomplishment 100 years of service!  We will offer you a sneak peek at upcoming activities connected with our centennial.

This year’s gala will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, from 5 until 9:30 p.m. at the Altamont Community Room in the village hall.   The dinner will include light appetizers, a wonderful meal catered by Elegant Touch, and delightful desserts created by our area’s best bakers.  Our auctions will offer a wide variety of donated items ranging from restaurant certificates, beautiful art work, home goods and a variety of certificates for services.  The cost of the event is $55 per person.

This is the library’s biggest fundraiser and all proceeds are used to help us continue our mission to provide diversified services to our patrons of all ages.  We truly are a center for the community we serve and welcome your partnership in making this possible.

If you are interested in attending the gala, please call or stop by the library for an RSVP card or call Pat Spohr at 861-6939 or me at 861-7298. We will also still gladly accept auction donations whether they are a specific item, gift card or even a special service donated by an individual or a business.  All donations are tax deductible.

Reservations are due by January 31st so that we can plan for the number attending. So please stop by the library or give us a call soon.
